Happy Monday
You are receiving this email as a part of my Mindful Monday Newsletter series.
Today I want to tell you a bit about my creator journey.
Well to be honest, I still find it hard to call myself a creator, but I create anyway.
My creator journey began after I started my blog vishakablone.com back in 2020 on my 27th birthday. (This was my first blog post: 27 years of my life so far)
I knew nothing about blogging and it was very hard to start gaining traction.
All through 2020 I didn’t see any results, but also I hadn’t taken my blog seriously.
I could give you many reasons why I wasn’t taking my blog seriously back then, but at the heart of it, it was actually fear.
Fear of what?
Fear of diving right in.
I was too scared to dive right in and take my blog seriously.
And I believe most of us do this unconsciously.
We are too scared to dive right in and giving it our all because we fear getting discouraged of it not working out even after we give it our all.
What I mean to say is, as long as we are not very serious about our goals or what we want to do, we can give to ourselves the excuse of, “Oh! But I hadn’t tried much. I knew I wouldn’t get it anyway.“
Or, “It was just a hobby”
Or, “I am okay with the results because I hadn’t studied anyway”
Or “I wasn’t taking it seriously anyway”
And this saves us. It eases us. It comforts us.
Going all in and not getting it would be too hard to bear. It would be too painful to have our efforts go all in vain.
So we end up procrastinating, and do things only half heartedly so we can actually save ourselves from getting discouraged and disheartened.
But I want to tell you here that no good ever comes from saving ourselves.
We are not here to save ourselves and be comfortable.
We are here to get bruised, to get discouraged and to get uncomfortable in the pursuit of our heart’s desires.
Doing so will require a lot of courage. But you must know that you have no shortage of it. You have an abundance of it inside you.
You just must notice carefully and be mindful of it and look for opportunities to use that courage muscle in you.
As for going all in and the uncertainty and fear of not getting it even after putting in all your effort, just know that your job is not to get focused on the outcome.
Your job is to just focus on the process.
You cannot control the outcome. Never. So don’t get attached to the outcome.
All you can do is to do your part.
And once you have done your part each day, let go and leave the result for whatever happens.
If you get it, great.
If you don’t, let it still give you the satisfaction of doing your part, instead of bitterness.
You were willing to go all in. You were willing to get bruised. You were willing to learn. And that is the greatest thing.
And if you still say, “I want to do it all over again”, remember that is the bravest thing.

From my current read- The Artist’s way:
“……But do you know how old I will be by the time I learn to really play the piano/ act/ paint/ write a decent play?”
“Yes…. The same age you will be if you don’t”
